Thesis and defence

The result of your licentiate or doctoral studies should be the publication and defence of a thesis.

The licentiate or doctoral thesis is either a uniform coherent scientific work called a monograph or a collection and summary of scientific articles, called a compilation thesis.

The licentiate degree comprises in total 120 credits. The thesis should constitute between 60-120 credits depending on the regulation in your subjects General Syllabus. The remaining credits should be course credits.

The doctoral degree comprises in total 240 credits. The thesis should constitute between 120-240 credits depending on the regulation in your subjects General Syllabus. The remaining credits should be course credits.
