Returning
What happens when i return?
Isn’t it great to be back? Even if you had an eventful and exciting exchange period, it’s always nice to come home!
There are several practical things to take care of once you have returned to BTH.
Credit transfer from your studies abroad
The credits you obtained during your exchange studies will not be transferred automatically; you must apply. To do so, submit the online form “Tillgodoräknande av utlandsstudier” (Credit transfer from studies abroad), and include your Learning Agreement and Transcript of Records.
Be sure to complete pages 6–7 “After the Mobility” of the Learning Agreement with the help of your programme director or other authorised staff member. A copy of your complete Learning Agreement (in which the After the Mobility section has been filled in) must also be submitted to out.exchange@bth.se.
Remember that we also need your evaluation/final report if you haven’t already submitted it.
The OLS language test, part 2, should have been sent to you automatically – if you have not received it, please let us know.
Apart from the evaluation/final report, we also need a Certificate of Departure completed by the host university on your departure in order for you to receive the remaining scholarship amount (20% of the total scholarship). Payments will be made in September, so if you have submitted all the documents to out.exchange@bth.se on time, you will receive the remaining scholarship amount by the end of October. Please make sure that you have received the final payment by that time.
Evaluation
Your experiences from abroad are very valuable to future outgoing students. Therefore, we encourage you to tell others about your exchange in the form of a travel report. Tell us what you experienced – what the university and the studies were like, what you think about the city and the country, what was good or bad, social aspects/leisure activities, how you coped with the language, etc. You can compare your experiences to those you have had at BTH, and don’t forget to include some pictures!
Presentation of your exchange studies
We would appreciate it if you could prepare a short presentation of your exchange period; some pictures and a brief description of what you liked about the university, the studies, the city and the country. Each semester, we usually organise a homecoming seminar where students who have been on an exchange get a chance to meet and tell others about their stay abroad and exchange experiences. We also ask students who have been on an exchange to give a short presentation to prospective exchange students – this is a chance for you to share your best tips!
