Access to software
Access to Software
BTH students have access to a wide range of software, partly via shared computer rooms and other student computers, and partly through campus agreements with software suppliers like Microsoft, IBM and Autodesk.
On student computers
The range of software on BTH student computers is determined by the teaching staff’s requirements. The range is updated on a regular basis at the course directors’ request.
Microsoft Office
BTH students have access to Office Online; you can also install the latest version of Microsoft Office on your PC, Mac or tablet via https://portal.office.com, where you will also find the OneDrive storage service.
How to download MS Office:
- Go to https://portal.office.com and log in with your username xxxx14@student.bth.se and your regular BTH password.
- In the upper right corner, click on “Install Office” and follow the instructions.
- Log in again when prompted to activate your installation.
The package is available for PC, Mac and iOS/Android. For iOS/Android, download Word, Excel, etc. as freestanding apps in AppStore/GooglePlay. Log in to the apps using the same login name xxxx14@student.bth.se and your BTH password.
Other Microsoft products
You can download Microsoft products yourself through Azure DevTools for education (former Imagine). Log in to Azure DevTools for education with your BTH account.
Affinity
Here you can download Affinity Photo, Designer och Publisher. As BTH-student you can install these on your own computer at no cost. The license is valid for one year at the time. There are also books about the softwares that you can lend at BTHs library.
AutoCAD and Autodesk products
Autodesk gives students access to software for download. Go to http://students.autodesk.com/ and register an account with your @student.bth.se address. See instruction via “How it works” at https://www.autodesk.com/education/edu-software/overview?sorting=featured&page=1
Abaqus
There is a free student version of Abaqus for download available here: https://academy.3ds.com/en/software/abaqus-student-edition
MatLab
Go to https://se.mathworks.com/academia and login with you BTH account. Once logged in you can start using MatLab Online immediately. You can also download and install the MatLab software on your computer. Note: You can not use older versions than R2023b.
STATA
Here you can download STATA. As BTH-student you can install this on your own computer at no cost.
