What does support from a fellow student entail?
Support from a fellow students may involve social support, someone to associate with and to ask questions about your timetable, etc. A fellow student can also escort you, move equipment between lecture halls and be available in various unforeseen situations. Support from a fellow student is given to students with mental and neuropsychiatric disabilities and to persons with a visual impairment or physical disability.
Who provides the support?
The fellow student is usually someone who attends the same course as the student with the disability.
What does support from a mentor entail?
The mentor can help structure and plan your studies by making agreements and following up on them. A mentor can also help prioritise course material and interpret instructions as well as advise on various teaching situations. The support is given mainly to students with a mental or neuropsychiatric disability.
Who provides the support?
The support is provided by a person with academic experience or knowledge of the subject, e.g. an experienced student, doctoral student, retired lecturer or other person with experience in academic studies.
